This week we held Kandilaki Assemblies at all our campuses. Students and teachers with names celebrating namedays in July and August all helped light the kandilaki and lead the school into prayer. The principal, Mr Con Roubos, then explained the significance of the holiday we celebrate on the 15th of August, known as Η Κοίμηση της Θεοτόκου. Children were surprised to see how they celebrate this day in Greece. In some parts of Greece it is known as the Easter of Summer!
